The logo
- Carmina Burana, SECTIO II: PRIMO VERE. 13th century -
April the second month of the ancient Roman,
and the fourth of the modern calendar, containing thirty days.
The origin of the name is uncertain. The traditional
etymology is Lat. aperire, "to open", in allusion to
its being the season in which trees and flowers begin to
"open". Therefore, the logo shows a blooming flower. Moreover,
the logo shows a blooming "Camellia japonica - 'April
Remembered'", i.e. an "April" in April. This reflects that
APrIL II is the follow-up of the assessment project APrIL I.
